This sticky chocolate spread was designed to be eaten with rice

We're not quite sure what to think about this.

A Japanese company has come up with a chocolatey mixture that is meant to be slathered on rice.

Produced by Kiyoya, the product is aptly called "Chocolate to put on rice", and is a mixture of chocolate and miso, which is a paste made from fermented soy beans. 

There are many different kinds of miso, but most of them have a salty taste and are used as condiments, soups, and glazes.

According to news outlet Sora News, the mix — which resembles a brown sticky glob — tastes more overwhelmingly of miso than of chocolate, so it might just be a bit of a marketing spin to be selling the product as a "chocolate paste". Read more...
