Kristaps Porzingis posts sprint photos after David Fizdale says he hasn't progressed
New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis posted two pictures of himself sprinting on a track Thursday in an apparent response to his coach's claim that the All-Star was not yet at that point in his rehab. Knicks coach David Fizdale said Thursday afternoon that Porzingis is doing light running but not yet sprinting in his rehab from an ACL injury. But after media outlets published reports with Fizdale's comments about the 23-year-old's progress, Porzingis posted photos of himself sprinting on Instagram. Fizdale had said Porzingis was "working his butt off" but hadn't progressed significantly from the activity he was engaged in before training camp, which included light running and shooting. "He's still kind of there, [no] huge jumps," the coach said. Porzingis has worked out primarily at the team practice facility but also has worked outside of the facility. "He's grinding, trying to get it right. It's just one of those injuries...
