GRAND FORKS — A woman was arrested after she pointed a gun at a UND staff member earlier this week on campus and then fled the scene.
According to an email sent to campus community members Thursday afternoon, Sept. 22, the University Police Department received a call at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19. The caller reported a woman brandishing a gun near the entrance to Gamble Hall.
She had taken the weapon from her waistline and pointed it at a staff member who asked if she needed help.
When UPD arrived, the woman was attempting to flee the scene in her car. She was quickly located, stopped and arrested within minutes of the incident. There were no injuries to campus community members, officers or the suspect.
According to the email, sent by Chief Rodney Clark, associate vice president for public safety and chief of police at UND, the woman, who was not identified in the campus email, is not a student of the university, nor is she affiliated with the university in any way.
